Video: My Trunk Organization for Car Camping - With Drawers!
I don't know if you've noticed, but I like to be organized. Over the past few years of working from home, I've come to the realization that my surroundings have a big impact on me. When things are together it's much easier for me to get work done. So when it came to prepping for our anniversary camping trip, I wanted to have systems in place to ensure that I didn't need to worry about where things were in our little Honda Fit.
So I took the drawers from our kitchen island and stuck them in our trunk! Totally normal, right? ;) I packed them tightly making sure no metal pieces were hitting each other and used an adjustable bungee cord so nothing rattled. It was a game changer for my car camping experience. No more moving bags and baskets of stuff around from the cooler to the back seat, meals were made quickly and efficiently. I’m excited to take this system along on future camping trips - it’ll be really handy when we camp at sites with bear lockers too!
Most of our stuff was thrifted or purchased second hand, but I've linked a few items that I purchased new and love. The white drawers are metal and originally by Elfa (available at the Container Store).
